We are pleased to announce the grand reopening of the website – codename Operation Phoenix – in a classic, newspaper format. It looks and works great on tablets!
While the new site may look vintage, it’s packed with powerful features. The Key To Lines is designed to evoke an old transit atlas and provides clear visibility of active and inactive rail corridors.
KSU Purple was chosen for the northwest corridor, which notably stops at the historic locomotive museum in Kennesaw. From Terminal Station, the Purple route also extends south, passing through Mechanicsville, South Atlanta, and will end at Stockbridge.
Orange – the sole remaining color choice – travels west to meet Riverside, Mableton, and Austell.
MARTA’s Red, Green, Gold, and Blue lines were also extended where possible. For instance, the Green line now reaches east to Stone Mountain, while the Gold line switches tracks at East Point through Hapeville, ultimately reaching Griffin.
There is still a lot more data and functionality to add, including MARTA’s RESTful API, but – baby steps.
This rail system is the one you and your children deserve. To this end, the next update will also contain a Look Around feature that empowers users to view their local train depot, as well as contact information to their State representative’s office.
